Longitudinally Resolved Spectral Retrieval (ReSpect) of WASP-43b

چکیده
Thermal phase variations of short-period planets indicate that they are not spherical cows: day-to-night temperature contrasts range from hundreds to thousands degrees, rivaling their vertical contrasts. Nonetheless, the emergent spectra have typically been fit using one-dimensional (1D) spectral retrieval codes only account for gradients. The popularity 1D is easy understand: robust and a rich legacy in solar system atmospheric studies. Exoplanet researchers recently introduced multidimensional schemes interpret planets, but these necessarily more complex computationally expensive than counterparts. In this paper we present an alternative: phase-dependent observations inverted produce longitudinally resolved can then be standard codes. We test scheme on iconic phase-resolved WASP-43b simulated James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) open-source Pyrat Bay framework. Notably, take model complexity simulations one step further previous studies by allowing longitudinal composition addition temperature. show performing accurate applying disk-integrated emission spectra, even though identical terms computational load. find extant Hubble Spitzer WASP-43b, difference between two approaches negligible, JWST measurements should treated with (ReSpect).

Ks-band secondary eclipses of WASP-19b and WASP-43b with the Anglo-Australian Telescope
We report new Ks-band secondary eclipse observations for the hot-Jupiters WASP-19b and WASP-43b. Using the IRIS2 infrared camera on the Anglo-Australian Telescope (AAT), we measured significant secondary eclipses for both planets, with depths of 0.287+0.020 −0.020 per cent and 0.181+0.027 −0.027 per cent for WASP-19b and WASP-43b, respectively. We compare the observations to atmosphere models f...
متن کاملA PRECISE WATER ABUNDANCE MEASUREMENT FOR THE HOT JUPITER WASP-43b
The water abundance in a planetary atmosphere provides a key constraint on the planet’s primordial origins because water ice is expected to play an important role in the core accretion model of planet formation. However, the water content of the solar system giant planets is not well known because water is sequestered in clouds deep in their atmospheres. By contrast, short-period exoplanets hav...
متن کاملSIGNLESS LAPLACIAN SPECTRAL MOMENTS OF GRAPHS AND ORDERING SOME GRAPHS WITH RESPECT TO THEM
Let $G = (V, E)$ be a simple graph. Denote by $D(G)$ the diagonal matrix $diag(d_1,cdots,d_n)$, where $d_i$ is the degree of vertex $i$ and $A(G)$ the adjacency matrix of $G$. The signless Laplacianmatrix of $G$ is $Q(G) = D(G) + A(G)$ and the $k-$th signless Laplacian spectral moment of graph $G$ is defined as $T_k(G)=sum_{i=1}^{n}q_i^{k}$, $kgeqslant 0$, where $q_1$,$q_2$, $cdots$, $q_n$ ...
متن کاملTHE SPECTRAL DETERMINATION OF THE MULTICONE GRAPHS Kw ▽ C WITH RESPECT TO THEIR SIGNLESS LAPLACIAN SPECTRA
The main aim of this study is to characterize new classes of multicone graphs which are determined by their signless Laplacian spectra. A multicone graph is defined to be the join of a clique and a regular graph. Let C and K w denote the Clebsch graph and a complete graph on w vertices, respectively. In this paper, we show that the multicone graphs K w ▽C are determined by their signless ...
